Cookie Policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026.
This policy explains the browser storage used by the Press & Polish website. The site publishes dry cleaning and garment care information and a service inquiry form. It does not run an advertising network and it does not load an analytics package.
Press & Polish is at Eliodoro Yáñez 2331, Providencia, Santiago 7510277, Región Metropolitana, Chile. Telephone +56 2 3243 2291. Email [email protected]. Questions about this notice can use those contacts. The same details appear in the privacy policy and the terms.
What Cookies Are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store and send back on later requests. Cookies can remember a login, keep a cart, or, on other websites, support measurement and advertising. Similar technologies include local storage, which stays in the browser but is not automatically attached to every request the way a cookie is.
Press & Polish uses the phrase “cookie notice” on the page because visitors expect a short statement about browser storage. The actual mechanism in the code is local storage, described below. The site does not set a first-party analytics cookie and does not set a third-party advertising cookie.
How Cookies Work on This Website
When you open a page, a script looks for a local storage item named
press_polish_notice_ok. If the item is missing, a notice
is shown. The notice says that the site stores one preference so the
notice can stay dismissed, and that analytics and advertising cookies
are not used. It links to this policy.
If you press “Got it,” the script writes that item with the value “1” and hides the notice. On later visits in the same browser, the notice stays hidden. The value does not include your name, email address, inquiry text, or a garment description.
If you do not press the button, the item is not written. The notice can appear again. Nothing else about the website changes: the service pages and the inquiry form work the same either way, because the preference does not unlock a tracker.
Cookies Used by the Website
The published pages do not instruct the browser to create a cookie for measurement, advertising, or login. The inquiry form is a normal form submission. It does not drop a “logged in” cookie afterward. There is no shopping cart cookie because there is no cart.
| Storage | Name | What it stores | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local storage, after you press “Got it” | press_polish_notice_ok | The value 1, meaning the notice was dismissed | Until you clear site data for this website |
A host or a browser may use its own technical cookies that Press & Polish does not set in the page code. This policy does not invent names for those cookies. If you see a cookie that is not listed above, it is not part of the garment care pages as written.
Essential Cookies
There is no essential login cookie and no essential load-balancing cookie named in the site code. The notice preference is functional rather than essential: the website can be read without it. It exists so the notice does not cover the corner of every page after you have acknowledged it.
Functional Cookies
The local storage item is the functional preference. It remembers a single choice about the notice. It does not remember garments, sizes, or previous inquiries. Clearing it only brings the notice back.
Analytics Cookies
Analytics cookies are not used. The pages do not include Google Analytics, another measurement script, or a tag manager. Visiting a service page does not send a page-view event to an analytics vendor from the site code. Server logs, if the host keeps them, are described in the privacy policy and are not a cookie you can switch off from this notice.
Advertising Cookies
Advertising cookies are not used. The site does not include an advertising pixel, a retargeting tag, or a social media embed. The “Got it” button does not grant consent for ads, because there is no advertising storage to enable. There is also no separate “reject ads” button, because adding one would pretend that an advertising choice exists.
Third-Party Technologies
Fonts and images are files delivered with the website, not widgets loaded from an advertising or font-subscription network in the page markup. The inquiry form posts to a script on this same website. It does not post your message to a third-party form vendor.
No cookie preference center from an outside consent vendor is installed. Adding one would be misleading unless that vendor were actually processing a choice about real optional cookies.
Cookie Preferences
Your preference is the “Got it” button. Choosing it stores
press_polish_notice_ok. Ignoring the notice stores
nothing. There is no menu of optional categories, because analytics
and advertising categories are not in use. The contact form does not
read this preference and does not require you to dismiss the notice
before you send an inquiry.
Browser Controls
You can remove the preference yourself. In your browser’s site settings for this website, clear cookies and site data, or delete local storage. After that, the notice can show again. Blocking all storage may also stop the “Got it” choice from being remembered; the pages themselves can still be read.
Private browsing modes often discard local storage when the session ends. In that case the notice can return on the next session. That is normal browser behavior, not a second tracker.
Cookie Retention
The notice item does not have an expiry date inside the script. It remains until you clear it or until the browser removes site data. It is not refreshed with a new identifier on each page. Inquiry messages are not stored in this item. How long an inquiry file stays on the server is covered by the privacy policy, not by this notice.
Changes to This Cookie Policy
If the website later adds a real analytics or advertising tool, this policy and the notice must be changed first so they describe that tool and offer a choice that matches it. Until then, the notice stays limited to the single preference. The date above is the date of this text.
